Membership Category and Criteria |

|
|
Candidates for election to the class of Consociate Members shall be persons who, in the opinion of the Council, are likely to have a sufficient interest in, or may contribute to further, the objects and purposes for which the Institute is constituted; and shall be at least 17 years of age. |
|
|
|
|
|
Candidates for election or transfer to the class of Associate Members shall be persons who, in the opinion of the Council, are in a position to further the objects and purposes for which the Institute is constituted; and shall meet the following qualifying conditions: ·
Shall be at least 25 years of age; and have
obtained a certification of competence by the Institute at a Certified
Practitioner's level in the field of purchasing, materials, logistics and
supply management. Associate Members may use the membership designation of AMSIPMM. |

Candidates for election or transfer to the class of Ordinary Members shall be persons who, in the opinion of the Council, are in a position to further the objects and purposes for which the Institute is constituted; and shall meet the following qualifying conditions: ·
Shall be at least 28 years of age; and have
academic qualifications not lower than a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised
university, or any qualifications deemed to be the equivalent by the Council;
and have not less than five years of working experience related to the field
of purchasing, materials, logistics and supply management. Ordinary Members may use the membership designation of MSIPMM (Ordinary). |

Candidates for election or transfer to the class of Certified Members shall be persons who, in the opinion of the Council, are in a position to further the objects and purposes for which the Institute is constituted; and shall meet the following qualifying conditions: ·
Shall be at least 30 years of age; and have
obtained a certification of competence by the Institute at a Certified
Manager's level in the field of purchasing, materials, logistics and supply
management. Certified Members may use the membership designation of MSIPMM (Certified). |

Candidates for election or transfer to the class of Associate Fellow Members shall be persons who, in the opinion of the Council, are in a position to further the objects and purposes for which the Institute is constituted; and shall meet the following qualifying conditions: ·
Shall be at least 35 years of age and have been
a Certified Member of the Institute for five consecutive years. Associate Fellow Members may use the membership designation of AFSIPMM. |

Candidates for election or transfer to the class of Fellow Members shall be persons who, in the opinion of the Council, are in a position to further the objects and purposes for which the Institute is constituted; and shall meet the following qualifying conditions: ·
Shall be at least 40 years of age and have been
a Certified Member of the Institute for five consecutive years and have
served as a member of the Governing Council for two consecutive years. Fellow Members may use the membership designation of FSIPMM. |

The Governing Council may recommend the grant of Honorary Fellowship to persons who, in the opinion of the Council, will bring honour to the Institute by their association. Recommendations of Honorary Fellows by the Governing Council are subject to the approval in the Annual General Meeting. Honorary Fellows may use the membership designation of FSIPMM (Honorary). |

Any firm, company, government or statutory board interested in the advancement of the objects of the Institute as described above shall be eligible for membership. Institutional Members shall be allowed to nominate one representative or an alternate who shall be engaged in purchasing, materials, logistics and supply management. |
